DJI Mavic 2 Pro & Zoom
DJI's new Mavic 2 drones build on the super popular original Mavic Pro, adding features that previously were available on only their much more expensive commercial and professional drones. Still super compact and foldable, the Mavic 2 line of drones have even better obstacle avoidance, better stability and better cameras.
Available in two models - the Mavic 2 Pro and the Mavic 2 Zoom - both of the drones have an Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing system, protecting the drone from the top, bottom, front, back and both sides and allowing it to automatically maneuver around obstructions instead of just hovering in place. Both the Mavic 2 Pro and the Mavic 2 Zoom feature an outstanding flight time of up to 31 minutes, a top speed just shy of 45 MPH and flight distances of almost 5 miles.

Differences Between the Mavic 2 Pro and the Mavic 2 Zoom
The Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom have the same basic look and functionality. What separates the two drones is the camera. Here is a brief overview of the differences between the cameras on the two Mavic 2 Series drones:
Mavic 2 Pro
The Mavic 2 Pro features one of the best cameras ever put on a consumer level drone. DJI has teamed up with one of the top brands in the camera business - Hasselblad - equipping the Mavic 2 Pro with a camera that has a larger 1-inch image sensor that can take incredibly detailed, professional quality 20 MP resolution still images. That larger sensor and 28mm equivalent prime lens allows the ISO to go up to 12,800, which is much higher than the Mavic 2 Zoom.
An adjustable aperture that ranges from f/2.8 to 4.11 allows the Mavic 2 Pro to take stunning low light pictures and video with incredibly precise color reproduction. Because it uses HNCS (Hasselblad Natural Color Selection), images are vastly more accurate and natural looking.
The Mavic 2 Pro also supports a 10-bit Dlog-M color profile, generating higher dynamic range and deeper colors for both still images and video. The upgraded color profile allows the Mavic 2 Pro to record over 1 billion colors (the Zoom version only records 16 million colors).
Even better, because of its 4K 10-bit HDR support, the Mavic 2 Pro can be plugged into a 4K HLG TV and will play back footage with the right color tones, including brighter highlights and increased contrast that make HDR so appealing. Everything without any time-consuming post-editing.
Mavic 2 Zoom
The Mavic 2 Zoom features the same smaller size 1/2.3" image sensor that the original Mavic Pro, Phantom 4 and Mavic Air have. While it is capable of taking 4K video, still images are limited to 12MP. The Mavic 2 Zoom's camera is not exactly the same, though!
As you can probably guess from the name, the Mavic 2 Zoom has a 24mm-48mm focal length zoom lens camera, capable of zooming in on subjects with lossless zoom when shooting full HD videos. While that may not sound like a lot of zoom, it offers users the ability to create some pretty dramatic effects that up until now, were only available on much higher end DJI drones.
The Mavic 2 Zoom has a built in "Dolly Zoom" camera mode that the Mavic 2 Pro does not. Dolly Zoom (also sometimes called the "Vertigo effect") is a cinematic technique that keeps the subject the same size while the background gets wider or more narrow.
The Mavic 2 Zoom also includes a new Super Resolution feature that is not supported by the Mavic 2 Pro. When taking a picture in 24 mm equivalent 5, the camera will capture and patch together nine photos with its telephoto lens, resulting in a 48-megapixel super-resolution photo.
